Going back to our roots. By Chan Soon Meng.

Our pioneering ancestors Mr. & Mrs. Chan Kwan Seng sailed from China in a junk boat and landed on the banks of the Klang River in 1880 where they settled down in Kuala Lumpur. It never dawned on me that I will be the only Chan to do the opposite of what my great grandfather did……

In 2005 my husband Kok Peng was offered a teaching post in Yang En University in Quanzhou in the province of Fujian, China. He had retired from IBM and our children had grown up. Cynthia had married and settled in Australia and David also tied the knot and working in Vietnam. Our "birds" have flown off and there was an "empty nest" or emptiness left behind without the kids. We felt a need for some changes in our lives.

At first I was quite reluctant to go to China. Never in my lifetime had I ever wanted to visit China. However I do recollect that sometime in the spring of my youth or early married life I had wished to go abroad and live as an expatriate in a foreign land in a western country. My dream finally seemed to have materialized much later in my autumn years! But it was to go to China, the land of my forefathers!

Well, I had prayed to God for a change in my life and God responded. I did not mention to God what kind of new lifestyle I wanted or which country I would like to go. I should have been more specific in my prayers. Anyway, I decided to give it a try as Kok Peng said it was a yearly contract and we can always return home when the contract ends. It turned into five years of living in China! Every year we renewed the contract and thanks be to God it has been five wonderful years of a changed lifestyle.

I fell in love with Yang En University as soon as I arrived. There were beautiful majestic mountains, green hills, valleys and lakes surrounding the University. Farms planted with various types of fruit trees and vegetables are nearby in the countryside. There are lots of mango and longan trees all over the campus. At night one can see the twinkling stars and a bright shining moon up in the sky making it so enchanting and peaceful.

Nearby is the Majia village, which is like Pudu when Ah Poh and Ah Koong were alive and used to live in the 1960s. There is a beautiful government controlled Church situated on a hill which I have to walk a distance uphill and downhill passing through pigsties, chicken and duck farms if I wanted to attend the Chinese Church service. I regretted I didn't learn to speak mandarin when mother engaged Chinese teacher Mdm Wong to our house in Cheras years ago to teach us when we were young. Everyone in the village and campus communicate in Chinese and some spoke Minnan which is the hokkien dialect.

I got to know many University students and local teachers when I started to occupy my time conducting free English classes and Scrabble sessions to the many eager students who wanted to learn English. The students are so friendly and they love to speak to foreigners. In the mornings when I go for my backward walks, some students follow me around in the stadium so that they can practise their oral English. They invited me to their homes and gave me gifts of scarves, tea sets, and exotic food such as chicken and duck feet and duck necks!

This will be our fifth year stay in China having had an opportunity of living in a new environment. We have gained new experiences and exposure of life different from Malaysia, Australia or Vietnam. It has been a satisfying lifestyle living in the land where our ancestors came from. Soon we will go home to where we were born and bred, where our ancestors took their first bold step into a foreign land which we now call home sweet home in Malaysia.

4 days 15 hours to become level 34. Compare these stats to others, who take an average of 1 day 3 hours longer to get to the same level. I've played 454 games so far and have collected 109 Ace Player pins (Be the best player in the whole game) which comes to 0.24 of my games, which means in a quarter of my games, I am the best player there is (Hell yeah). But there's a problem.

I've been playing this game for 4 days and 18 hours.

This "problem" which exists definitely shows in my uni results, which to tell the truth, is not up to par. Scoring 67% for the Physics mid-term (Don't get me started on Dynamics test) and 26/40 for Engineering Materials mid-term says it all. I always have the feeling that I mostly know everything, which in turn, leads to my demise as I stare blankly, clueless at the questions being asked. Some of the mistakes made as extremely stupid such as 2-4(2) = -10, while others were carelessness (It is the recovery process that makes the material ductile, not annealing, which is the process of heating up a material so that it recovers,
so that it becomes ductile. Ugh)

Oh btw, I'm not a firm believer of carelessness and that I hate it when people say "Next time don't careless" because the word careless means that you didn't see the wrong in the question and therefore thought it was right, which in turn means that you can only reduce carelessness, not eliminate it. And also the fact that being careless means that you couldn't see it, so how can you see something which you couldn't see?

I think I should study more often, I don't like the fact that my calculator has ran out of battery, not my printer which has ran out of ink.

Gotta focus on studies for these few weeks cause after June 24^th it'll be all over...for about a month.

With that, my brother can finally drive HIMSELF. No more picking him up at 6pm at a place 30 minutes away, on my holiday. No more driving him to Serriamas because his friend has a party and my parents are glued to the TV, watching tennis. Still need to wait till 6pm every Monday, but he can damn well drive ME.

Okay, so the thing is sadly, the Savvy, (or Joanna) the little red car which I been having for the past 2 years, which passenger seat has been filled with many bottoms (Since I'm the one usually driving) will be going in about 6 months to a year. This time, the only restrictions in the "new" car would be that it has to be a used car, and also budget. The budget has increased from around RM28k (Which was a bargain, given that a new Savvy of my specs costs Rm42k, and that my car had only clocked in 60KM when it was purchased!) to RM55-65K, and again, some of the money is coming out from my own pocket. (Don't ask) There will be no more restrictions on HORSEPOWER LIKE LAST TIME (My dad thought that the first thing I would do is race) and I don't think that it must be a hatchback. Given that all my passengers have survived with all body parts intact every single time, (Although mentally, some may not, given my mood that day) and that I've only been in a minor accident with a stationary car and that was reversing out and was embarrassing, I must say that my driving is fine now.

Last week, I was doing the normal ritual of trying to fall asleep and failing to do so. As this was happening, I was thinking. (This is a "no shit, sherlock" moment) I was thinking, "Should I get back my piano groove again?"

Well, today was the first piano lesson I had in exactly 1 year 3 months and 12 days. It is also today that I have realized that it is as up to par as my Form 2 Sejarah.

During this piano lesson, while I didn't sound as if a drunken dog decided to chase a cat in an area restricted to the confinements of the piano keyboard when playing it, I didn't sound as if the dog was NOT drunk when it decided to chase a cat in an area restricted to the confinements of a piano keyboard. Not exactly sure how it degraded so badly, but it has, and I gotta work hard on it, cause the jump from Grade 7 to Grade 8 in the first place is as if you took part in a marathon when you only do 1500m, and now with this 1 year handicap, it gonna be with a 50 km/h face-on wind.

Hopefully what I want to achieve by the end of this year is to just be able to pick up Bach or Beethoven or Chopin and look at it and say, “Hmmm, I’ll try this” instead of “No.”

Cooks have issues. (A particular one, in particular)

What have I done to you of which has managed to piss you off? Quietly, I just wanted to do my work in peace. Yet, you somehow or rather have an issue with me.

I do not mind if I had done something bad to you during the past, or that you have decided to hate me during the course of time, which then of course is your problem, not mine.

I opened the chiller, happily wanting to gather some oranges for the juicer. That's the first location of which we were in contact. You were stocking up fruits in the chiller, filling it up for some reason with your shirt off. (Not that you look fit anyway) Your tattoo and eyebrow piercing on your left eye definitely meant that you were someone I would not give a damn about, seeing how "cool" you obviously thought you were.

Oh yeah your hair too. Makes me sick. There is a difference between a spike, and gay.

On seeing me, a nerdy 18 year old boy who is as skinny as a flatten sugar cane stick, you decided within 0.03305 seconds in that Neanderthal skull of yours that you were "cooler" then me. Of course, this is my reasoning based on my observation. But it could be other reasons too:

Maybe it was because of the fumes in the kitchen.
Maybe it was because you didn't want another problem. (If any existed)
Maybe it was because you were preoccupied about not paying the bills in time.
Maybe it was because your motorbike broke down that day and you were late.
Maybe it was because your father just got into the hospital.
Maybe it was because you hated life as a cook.
Maybe it was because your mother didn't love you enough as a child.
Maybe it was because you have ED and couldn't get laid. For your whole life.
Maybe it was because your family died in an accident.
Maybe it was because your grandfather told you that you couldn't succeed in life. With that, you worked hard being a cook to please him. However, on his death bed, he asked you to fuck off and he died with a peaceful conscience.

Therefore, with your chest up and your back straight, you nodded your hair (or head) upwards and said a sentence.

How would you think if someone you don't know came up to you (or you came up to him) and said, "What the fuck do you want?"

The next day, I was making ice lemon tea when you stormed out of the kitchen, with a cardboard box in your hand. You came to the bar, place the box on the bar top, and in front of a lunch, peak hour crowd, started to throw pieces of wrapping paper into the air. Then you went on about why there are pieces of paper in the box of apples, and that it somehow was Nic and me at fault. When I tried to explain that I didn't know anything by saying "Huh?" (Taken aback by all this confusion) You said, "Huh? Don't huh me okay who do you think you are." You then carried the box back to the kitchen, maybe feeling satisfied that you have vented off some anger at teenagers whom have no way of defending themselves.

The question is: Who do YOU think you are.

Poor poor you. A barbarian, a viking. Wrong era! People like you make me sick. People like you make me want to vomit. People like you make me wonder why am I still in this lawless, forsaken country. People like you only strengthen my believe that when I can leave this country, I will. People like you defines the general society of Malaysia. Stupid, retarded and unaccomplished in anything.

I believe that this behaviour from you will go on for a few more days, being the asshole you are. You will find reasons of which to blame my friend and I, and this I am certain. I can only do my time in work, and leave knowing the fact that my future should be better then yours if everything goes to plan. Boastful as it may be, but acting as the way you are, I don't give a zark.

When a question is asked in such a way that a numerical value should be given as the answer, please god dammit give the numerical value.

Example

"How much did you score for your English paper?"
"Enough."

Does this logically answer the question? How would I know what enough is? Is there a standardized measurement of enough being enough? Anyway, what is enough for you may be different then enough from me? I could be thinking that 60 would be "enough", but you could be actually scoring 80. This is not specific and does not answer the question. If you were working and someone asks you "What is the percentage turnover for the fourth quarter" Would you reply "All right?" There is no reason to be shy about giving the values. If it is high so be it, if it is low so be it.

It’s 3am. In the study, Daniel is currently using the computer. He is a 16 year old boy, slightly chubby because of “genetics” as they would call it. Usually, Daniel would be sleeping by now. But two days ago, his parents went off for a weeklong trip to Dubai. Daniel couldn’t pass of this opportunity to maximize his gaming time as he was falling behind his friends in terms of gaming experience. He was playing a game called F.E.A.R, a game of which most would say best played at night, in a cold room with a blanket over your head.
His dark brown eyes quickly dart across his monitor, his hands controlling his character based on what is happening on screen. Quickly, he moves his character inside the building. Daniel almost peed his pants when a girl suddenly came from that door on the other side of the room. A teen covered with blood and devilishly long hair which covered the face came floating inside the room. Daniel knows from the story in the game so far that this girl does not mean harm to him, but seeing her like that sure gave him the creeps. Pretty soon the girl whispers in his ear “” and floats through the floor, Daniel so far does not know what it means though.

I am coming out of my self bound hitrus for an important annoncement. Here it goes.

Some people like drama, other do not. I fall in a category where if the "drama" unfolding is a good thing, proceed.

If it is not a good thing, then it should be tackled. There now there are 3 options to choose from.

a) To stay and intervene.

b) To run to a safe distance, and then watch how the proceedings unfold.

c) To run far, far away.

Usually, being me, I would take option a) or b) and happily try to be the problem solver, or to nosily watch from a distance.

The drama which I am talking about here goes into any script of ANY TV series where the main theme is romance. (Includes Korean and Cantonese dramas)

So this time, I shall run, far far away as I am unhappy with the character development of all involved. I don't even know if any drama will happen, or if unnecessary tension will take place for an infinite period of time, which in turn will effect our whole community which is the "gang".

The problem should be solved quickly, either with frontal assault or through lies and deception. Either way works fine. JUST FUCKING SOLVE IT.

This post is a rant about Streamyx. The overall conclusion is that Streamyx sucks. Period.

You guys say 1MB on the front page. My ass 1MB, more like 1kB. I remember using the internet during Jaring days, I remember playing Neopets. I remember it fucking LOADING. Why the fuck can a dial-up connection load faster then technology 8=9 years from then? What the shitload of crap is this? No arguments about that 1MB connection having to share between a few "thousand" people. At least keep your fucking promises. You want to fucking promise me a 1MB connection please fucking deliver at least 75% of it.

I don't understand why we cannot have 8MB/20MB connections like in other countries. Please don't tell me that Malaysia is a big country and whatnot. Why can America but not Malaysia? Don't tell me that America is a more developed country. I thought the whole fucking point of it was to develop this country in the first place? The technology is here already in our doorstep. Please just use it for the benefit of the nation.

Do you know how much time I waste waiting for things to load? I think if I could accumulate the amount of time wasted waiting for pages to load in a year, I could:

1. Go on a multi-country holiday.
2. Make 10000 cups of coffee.
3. Help save underprivileged children.
4. Conduct a study on the amount of time wasted by Streamyx users for waiting for pages to load.
5. Solve the Rubik's cube for the first time without help.

Time is something that cannot be taken back. Once its gone its gone forever. We always need to cherish our moments with time. So when you're on your death bed. Please don't think this:

"If only I could use the time I waited for pages to load for a good purpose." A then die in helpless sorrow and regret.

Why can't you greedy bastards stop making money and start to help to develop the country? Other countries, they know that they can make more money by using some money to improve their services/infrastructure and etc. And it will be a lie to say that you have no money to develop the infrastructure. Just because you want to afford that BMW 6 Series don't mean that you have to overcharge us customers to pay for your car.

Look. All I want to do is to happily play games like CoD4 or CoH or even CS without worrying about lagging/disconnecting at any moment. I just to want to be able to get the information I need from any site in 3 seconds tops. I just want to be able to login my web browser games without any problems or interruptions or things which do not load. Time works in its mysterious ways. It speeds up when you are having fun, slows way down when your not. Maybe time is different for every single person. I mean, even light lags a small bit. If you are one meter away from the action, you would have lagged 0.00000000003333333 seconds. So time can be said to be relative to everyone, but because light travels so fast it does not matter until the distance is great.

In other news, I have been playing this game. It is called Visual-Utopia and I have been addicted to it. This game is a massive multiplayer online strategy turn based game and its is basically kingdoms and attacking and all that. :D Give it a go :)

Oh, about the omelets. You see, for our Moral Studies project (Of which i dislike the teacher) we have to raise up RM1000 to give it away for charity. So I came out with this idea of selling omelets and everyone has agreed. :D

For my english project, Di-Anne has choosen under the main heading of globalization, "Cultural Identity: To Retain or Reform?" Im choosing that we should reform. I do have the points. However, I can't really source out from books or papers cause there almost isn't any. Handout date is this Friday though so we should see.

Actually, I tried to do this question again later that day. I mean, this question had negative exponential, not to mention an irreducible denominator. Of course, as leaving the question blank during the exam, I HAD to try this at home in my own sweet time.

I proceeded to write down the question first.

Then stare at it blankly for a few moments.

After which, I lifted the marker and tried to see how far it leads too. After 10 minutes of agonizing, I got this.

What an idea! Bring the negative number down of course, for 1/e is actually e^-1. So it will end up like the above. So... Then what?

Ok...maybe this is not the way. A dead end has been approached. Erased it.

How about:

Ok fine that is SO wrong. You cannot cancel exponentials like that. I know you had to do some substituting, but it looks from here it can't! The "u" is supposed to cancel out the "x", which doesn't here.

After 40 minutes, I quit. To solve for another day.

Today's quiz was an epic fail, I will salute anyone who gets more then half correct. I hate this subject, this subject should be down with the dogs, eaten by dogs, digested, come out as shit, burn it in a furnace to generate electricity, and then only can it become useful.

i don't even know what's going on in class. We just sit there in the lecture hall, listening to her rambling on about, wait I don't even know what is she rambling on. She has not given us any guidelines, any information about the subject. That's the thing that scares me. Even NATIONAL SERVICE teachers taught us what we were expected to be thought before proceeding in their mindless brainwashing. I mean, being PREPARED to study is essential to actual studying. But not knowing what we are doing, my god this is worse then sitting down to watch 3 hours of 'The Bold and the Beautiful' everyday for 3 weeks. I wish I knew what I was doing, then decide if I should GO for the classes or not. Holidays, paintball and parties!

Now, let the holidays... begin!

Definitely organizing paintball sessions, will call you guys don't worry :D

Sue's party on Tuesday was NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEE. Yay to BBQ's! And on thursday, after my adv maths exam (which was damn freaking hard btw) I went bowling, and learned how to hook the ball! Nice! Not that it's hitting anything, but at least it's hooking :D

Straightaway after that went with Shum and Lynette to a jamming session including Sue, Casper and Edward at Akarkarya. Liked the jamming session, but forgot how to sing already xD Casper's guitar is awesome and Sue can improvise piano and SING GODLIKE...ish. Eh shes' damn good wei.

Then at night, went to Williams to hang out with NS friends, (Which everyone else just so happened to be ex-DJ'ians haha) That was nice too.

Btw, ppl should stop doing those stupid quizzes on Facebook. Its annoying the spam involved.

Review of Terminator 4: Salvation. Be ready to laugh your head off if you have seen it.

*Warning, contains spoilers. Please read if you have watched Terminator as this is a parody review.

Ok, here goes my review of the Terminator Salvation.

Story start out pleasingly, with a guided missile hitting an enemies outpost. The backdrop of AC-130's drilling the land with bombs was a wonderful sight. Infantry is dropped off with helicopters. Assaulting the outpost. Oh the action starts out just fine. John Connor steps out of the heli, only eager to go on with another mission.

Then investigate the ruins, go down this hole to find some data which they found out was top priority. Then, the sargent asks John Connor to go back up and call in for more backup.

As John Connor takes pilot helicopter, leaving the ruins of the outpost, he notices that it is quiet, too quiet.

Suddenly.

EXPLOSION! The helicopter goes down... down and down it goes.

*crash*

He walks out without a scratch. He looks back.

NUCLEAR CLOUD!

What I was thinking: "Eh, no nuclear fallout ah? THIS IS INDIANA JONES ALL OVER AGAIN!"

After that, a new guy appears. Marcus he goes. He walks in into a once bustling town. Now in ruins.

John Connor is one on one with Marcus. Decides to let him go. But Marcus needs to inflitrate Skynet now.

Suddenly he's at the outskirts of L.A.

They let him in. John Connor decides to hijack a bike and ride there. I dont get it, if the bike can dodge cars exploding in midair, how could it not see a line in the middle of the road which would be hazadous if it was to go over it as a trap?

He's suddenly in L.A. too. Suddenly he's managed to inflitrate the main HQ.

Marcus goes into the main brain HQ room, the center of the centre. Finds out that he was supposed to do this and that that was the plan Skynet had all along. Marcus destrories his own microchip, but manages to function, as we would to find out later, "heart is the strongest part of the human body, as it is what makes us human." WTF.

John Connor finds Kyle Reese *HES STILL ALIVE HE WAS SUPPSOED TO BE DEAD HES NUMBERS ONE ON THE TERMINATOR LIST*

Suddenly Arnold Swathdneksj (spelling lol) comes. Marcus comes in time.

Ways NOT to kill a Super-Arnold Model Terminator

1. Hot molten lava doesn't work (Worked in Terminator 1)

4. Gas explosions doesn't work.
5. Shooting it in the head repeatly till his skin comes off? Doesn;t work.

Imagine, if Terminator 1 ended if Kyle Reese managed to rip The Terminator's head off. Why didn't they think off it back then? The movie would be 20 minutes long then.

ANYWAY.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. Marcus wins by ripping its head off. But only before John Connor is stabbed with a STEEL ROD through the middle of his chest.

Amazingly, it is pulled out, and with a little bit of help, John Connor manages to walk out of the building to the extraction point. LIKE WTF THE ROD WENT THROUGH HIS HEART HE IS THE SAVIOUR ALL RIGHT.

Of course,

BIGGEST EXPLOSION EVER WHICH DESTROYES THE WHOLE SKYNET OF THE L.A. HQ TO END THAT SCENE WITH.

Ending coming. John Connor is dying. But he can't die. He's the saviour of mankind. "His heart can't take it."

Marcus donates his heart. On the spot.

My thoughts: "WTF U CANT JUST GIVE YOUR HEART LIKE THAT WHAT IF THE TISSUES OF THE HEART DONT MATCH THEN JOHN CONNOR WOULD REJECT THE HEART WHICH WOULD ONLY LEAD TO COMPLICATIONS. AREN'T THERE SUPPOSED TO BE TESTS AND SHIT FOR A MONTH, NOT TO MENTION A WAITING LIST TO BE PUT ON?"

And they all live happily ever after. Of course, the ending says that they only managed to destroy the L.A. side of Skynet, and that Skynet is "still powerful worldwide" What this means is.

Eh, this restaurant city game on facebook is not bad for a facebook game wei! I didn't know it was that popular within the facebook community. Oh well, never too late to join in the bandwagon! Btw, i need tomatoes, onions, banana, strawberries, apples and pasta and if you can spare any it would be awesome wei!

So, I just found out that this guy whom I met in person about 2 months ago in Sunway was actually in my MSN contact list for about 4-5 years now! Damn random wei. I have no idea why we added each other now, too long ago already.

So...finals are coming soon. Just got back Adv. Maths trial results, 88%! You know I had to fight like crazy for ONE. ONE mark to raise it from 86% to 88%? At least my argumentative skills are still there. Thus, my average has risen, but the total average for my adv. maths is only 75.6%, which is 0.65% short of MY REQUIREMENTS FOR MONASH U OMG IMMA STUDY HARDER NOW CANT TOLERATE ANY MORE NONSENCE!

Oh yeah damn sad for maths these days, we've just finished our trials, and the first thing when she comes in today was "I am not happy with your results. Dhanesh! You did alot of careless mistakes!" Damn sad wei Dhanesh kena like that first thing in the morning. I also got some backlashing. Damnit, I've learned too NOT USE ADV MATHS FORMULA in MATHS exam. (Implicit differentiation)

Another thing is....I downloaded SDO! YAYAYAYAYAY. SDO rocks man. OK fine o2jam is SO WEI BETTAR AND KOOLER AND less lala...lah. But its the only substitute I have now so NO CHOICE.

And Di-Anne, Pik Kuan and Ze Wen came over to my house on Sunday! Like omg it was so random wei, they were studying for their finals and then Di-Anne had the bright idea of kacauing me since Chien Wen was not able to be kacaued by them. I myself just had woke up after a nice nap because of lunch (7 course dinner...for lunch!) when I got this sms:

"Aww, I want cats tooo. Can me and pikky and ze wen come round your house now? We're on a visiting spree whee!"

They spent about an hour at my place, while ze wen was buzy killing zombies in L4D, the girls were in my room looking around like they haven't been into a guys room before xD

Just...tired...these days...

Well, loved the 3 day holiday, went for 2 barbecues! Fri was Atheera's and Sat's was Shum's. Quite awesome wei the both of them :D

Well, college for almost 2 months now, and I'm really settling in into the college life. Going to Medan for lunch with the 'English' gang, having fun with the 'Adv. Maths' gang, playing L4D like crazy, fooling around with the teachers, getting the homework done just in time, its getting to be the norm already. No photos no photos. But yeah, Sun-U is getting to be a nice place.

"My idea of great fun is to be with 5-6 of your great friends chatting together somewhere."

Hey there! It's been a while since I've blogged. The crazyness will continue till about June 4th, after that which there's a break for 1 month! *Praise the Lord*

So anyway. I was searching around for Left 4 Dead patch downloads (OMG that game is awesome omg omg omg) when I came across this game.

The concept of this game is tremendously interesting. This game is not just those everyday RTS,

(Real-Time-Strategy, you know, Red Alert 2, Command and Conquer, those games where u build up a base and attack people)

It puts the element of time into the gameplay! That is, you can go into the past and also the future during a game!

What does this mean?

For example.

You're currently in the present, building up your base, then you find out from your timeline graph that you're going to be attacked from the future. So you zoom in to the future, and see your forces getting owned by them. Therefore, in order to reduce causalities, you decide to go into the past in order to build more units to be able to counter you're opponent attack. So then the past is fast forwarded into the present timeline and when your opponent attack comes from the future into your present timeline, you see that your forces are able to hold out his attacks. So! On seeing that, your opponent decides that he took too many casualities. So he decides to go back before he made his attack and withdrew most of his units so that he could plan a bigger attack in the future!

And another thing, what about the old grandfather paradox?

The grandfather paradox goes like this. Suppose that you went back into the past. Over there, You decide to kill your past self! So your past self is dead. Therefore, he could not have continued living, and therefore could not go back into the past and kill himself. So what happens!?

Luckily, their game engine manages to balance this out nicely. Of course, it only is in alpha testing so it will be some time more before there will be any announcements on this game. Hopefully, it will manage to live up to it's concept and bring a whole new level of gaming.

Hey there! Ok, sorry for the overdue continuation of my NS experience. Given present circumstances, I just finished my second round of 5 rounds of test this week. At least there's no test next week!

*Note: This time, I'll only be touching on student sports, not the NS activities. Also, there won't really be any pictures cause I dont have any pictures of people in motion with the sports, I'm sure there are plenty out there on facebook. I'll update with those pics if I am able to get it from them.

Sports/Activites.

In terms of sports and activities, there are always things to do there. It's just whether it's boring or not lol.

The first physical activity I remember doing there was the bleep test. The bleep test was done to see the fitness level of the trainees. Basically, We first stand on a line. When the bleep sounds we then run 20m and touch the other line there. Wait there till the next bleep comes. Repeat. The intervals between the beeps decreases with passing time, so while u get tired, you have to push yourself to make it into the next bleep in time. I got 11.0 :D

Well, what can I divide the activities into? 2 actually. Sports and NS sponsored activities. But for not I'll just talking about the student sports.

Netball

Student sports: Sports that have nothing to do with NS. lol. Just for the fun of it between us. Usually takes place between 5.30-6.30 everyday. Choose what you want to join and play. First things first, the level of football at my camp is mediocre at best. Also, only like...10 chinese plays football. Like wtf 10 only!? Before this, I knew that more chinese play basketball, not football. But I didn't know the margin was this big. I guess again, it has all to do with your environment back home.

Then again, I'm somewhat not chinese.

Anyway, personally the most often sport I played there was either basketball. After that was...volleyball! Yeah volleyball is awesome. Learned volleyball over there actually.

Well, basketball was a blast really. There was this one time where Ben, Yap, Jeric and me teamed up and kinda beat everyone else for 8 matches of 4 on 4's. Of course, there are the basketball people who could easily close one eye and do a three pointer. That team from Johor...er...what school...forgot already... omg they damn pro wei. 3 people. The shooter, the runner, the layup king. Perfect combo.

Sepak takrul, when they first bought the ball out I was remembering the primary school days where we should just stand in a circle and tried in vain to juggle the ball with each other with more then 15 touches. When they said that there was going to be a competition against the companies, I knew that I must sign up.

Sepak takrul is just volleyball without the hands.

So anyway, during competition day, each company send in 3 groups, where 2 of them are malays and one must be non-malay to play in a team game. The two teams that win will ensure the companies to go through for the finals. (of course, there's only 4 companies xD)

I think it was Alpha against Bravo for us? In the first game, the Bravo team won.

Second game, it was our turn, the non-malays. Haha, we sucked, but they sucked more. We won! Trashed them like 21-17, 21-8 LOL.

But our company lost the third game, so we didnt go though. Btw, where's the certificate of participation! Bunch of liars.

Joggging, forgive me to call it a sport. It's the most common thing around there. The road I believe is something like 700-800m there and it's a circle. So just jog and jog and jog and jog. Nothing else to do what if no ones playing football, everyones playing either volleyball or basketball and you want to exercise. Haha, another thing here is: We exercise for fun!

The exercise dorm is Delta dorm. On most days between 5.30-6.30 (Or any other free time...) There would be between 2-4 people sweating it out there, with Neal's speakers blasting music to the tune of Katie Perry or Chris Brown. Are you guys still working out? Don't let that muscle go to waste xD

I almost forgot! For football and netball, you could represent your NS camp in intercamp matches. I signed up for football and tried to play as a keeper. There were 3 levels of training till you got selected. The first narrowed down the people from around 45 to around 27? The second narrowed it down even further to 22, while the final one brought the real team up of 18 people. I got through till the second round. Why? APPARENTLY IT IS BECAUSE I WEAR GLASSES, SO I CAN'T PLAY ANYMORE. MY SAFETY IS THEIR NUMBER ONE CONCERN. God damnit.

Oh yeah, our girls netball team congrats again for getting second place in Negeri Sembilan! :D

I'm starting to wonder why I took the accelerated intake.

It's really a pain in the neck especially adv. maths where we learn stuff at least 3 times faster then normal. I'm drowning in homework.

Going to be getting 5 internal exams in the coming 9 weeks before the main external exam in June. That's about an exam every 2 weeks. Also, each internal exam is going to be 20%, total will be 100% and combined with the external exam according to a certain ratio depending on your score. LIke if I score more for my external exam then internal, the ratio would be 70:30, if not it would be 60:40 which is fair I guess.

Im only really worried about Adv. maths, cause there's a lot to cover in such little time. Time is like this:

Test 1 - 7.4.09
Test 2 - 14.4.09

What this means is that we have to cover the entire chapter of Vectors within 1 week?

We're in the shit.
